The SES Expert, a doctor of medical physics, has many years of experience in medical radiotherapy. She is able to share her knowledge on both a theoretical and practical level by providing training, including practical exercises and support during operational processes. 1. Responsibilities of a physicist in radiotherapy: measurement of accelerators using diverse measuring instruments (water phantoms, plexi phantoms, body-like phantoms, various types of detectors),
2. Dose calculations using tables or planning systems: 3D planning, intensity modulated and rotation intensity modulated planning including quality assurance and verification of patient plans,
3. Establishment and verification of planning algorithms: raw data input, algorithm optimisation and verification of the planning system
4. Specialist technology: stereotactic planning including quality assurance, respiratory-triggered radiation, brachytherapy
5. Quality assurance of accelerators, inspection of measuring devices, radiation protection
6. Compliance with legal regulations and standards (Radiation Protection Directive, DIN)
7. Experience with accelerators: Varian Linac, Varian TrueBeam, Siemens Primus, Siemens Artist, Siemens Mevatron
8. Experience with planning software: Philips Pinnacle, Varian Eclipse
